The Social Ministry Team ministers to many different groups in our local and global societies. Some of the ongoing projects include the following: school supply kits, quilts, blanket Sunday, Thanksgiving baskets, tree of warmth, Salvation Army kettle drive, Operation Christmas Child, Christmas baskets, food pantry donations, monthly game night at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

You Can Participate!
Conneaut Food Pantry is beginning a competition between churches to see who can bring in the
most food and sundry items for the Pantry. The winning church will be awarded a trophy. This
will be an ongoing project with the trophy moving to the curch that gives the most every three
months.
If each of us brings in one can or box per week, we could easily be the winner!
Volunteer Drivers Needed
If you would be interested in sharing a few minutes of your time and the availability of your
vehicle in order to provide transportation to those needing a ride to and from church, please
contact Phyllis Waid at 593-2334.
This is a marvelous opportunity to help others share in the love of Jesus.
Grocery bags will be placed in the gathering space to facilitate our collection of Lutheran World Relief school kit items. The items needed to complete the kits will be indicated on the bag, but are also listed here so that you may plan to take advantage of upcoming sales to make your purchases. Please note that 70-sheet spiral notebooks are acceptable, but it takes three 70-sheet notebooks for a single school kit. Sometimes these notebooks have been on sale for as little as ten cents each.
Items Needed to Fill One School Kit
- Padded or spiral notebooks of ruled paper approximately 8” x 10-1/2” totaling 150-200 sheets. (If using 70-count notebooks, please include three.) Do not include loose leaf paper.
- One blunt scissors (safety scissors)
- One 30-centimeter rule (or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other)
- One pencil sharpener
- Six new, unsharpened #2 pencils
- One eraser approximately 2-1/2” long
- 12 sheets of construction paper in assorted colors
- Crayons, Box of 16 or 24
PLEASE NOTE: Good Shepherd will also collect glue sticks and glue bottles to be used by the Conneaut Area Schools. We have committed to providing 200 glue bottles and 100 glue sticks and are working directly with the Conneaut Area Schools to be sure that these items stay in the Conneaut area. CAMA (Conneaut Area Ministerial Association) is also taking part in this project. You may place your glue donations in a designated box that will be available in the gathering space in July.

Did you notice the Prayer Request Box in the gathering space? This box is for notes about your prayer requests, surgeries, procedures or other concerns you would like Pastor Gore to be aware of. Note paper and pen are provided beside the box for your convenience.
Charts for Altar Flowers and Bulletins are on the bulletin board across from the church office. Envelopes are available near the charts for you to use. They may be placed in the church offering. Altar Flowers will cost $35.00 per week.
Donations for bulletins are $15.00 for each Sunday.
Memorial Candles may be sponsored by the month and are $4.00 per Sunday.
